My dog Mia is VERY food driven, and inhales her food. We've tried numerous ways to slow her down. One was too big for her snout, so she was able to get to the food easily, another was a plastic bowl which gave her abrasions because of how hard she was jamming her snout into the bowl. Her snout was losing fur and turning red... she really likes food lol. We had to revert back to bowls because I didn't want her to damage her snout any further. Winnie kindly gave us this slow feeder and it's been working great! The soft matte silicone material bends enough so Mia doesn't hurt herself when shes digging her face in. It's shallow enough that she doesn't really have to either. I like all the grooves to hide different layers of food. And it truly does slow her down, she spends about 20-30 minutes eating her dinner now. With a regular bowl, she would finish it in about 30 seconds. With her plastic slow feeder, maybe about 2 minutes? I'm not sure how well a larger dog would do with this since the grooves are small. Their tongues might not be able to get into the grooves. But It's perfect for a small and medium dog. The base of the bowl also has a suction cup feature which keeps it in place, great touch! Also super easy to clean.
